Peter Yen, DMSc, MSHA, PA-C, LSSGB

Dr. Peter Yen is a seasoned healthcare executive with more than two decades of clinical experience, currently serving as Vice President of Service Development and Operations for Burn Reconstructive Centers of America and the Joseph M. Still Burn Centers since 2019. His career reflects a steadfast dedication to operational excellence, clinical leadership, and national service within complex healthcare systems.

Education and Expertise
Dr. Yen earned his Physician Assistant education from D’Youville University in 2001 and completed a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He later earned his Doctor of Medical Science degree from Lynchburg University, strengthening his foundation in executive leadership and healthcare transformation. As a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, he brings a disciplined, data driven approach to operational performance, quality improvement, and strategic growth.

Clinical and Operational Experience
Since 2001, Dr. Yen has practiced in Level I trauma burn centers across the southern United States and has spent over twenty years in progressive healthcare leadership and executive roles. His expertise includes acute burn and reconstructive surgical care, enterprise operations, workforce strategy, clinical logistics, and senior level advisory responsibilities across multi state burn systems.

Research and National Service
Dr. Yen has advanced burn science and innovation through his service as a programmatic panel advisor for the Congressionally Directed Medical Burn Research Program through the US Army since 2021. In this role, he has participated in the review, evaluation, and allocation of approximately $10 million in annual research funding to grant proposals focused on improving care for combat related burn injuries and associated trauma in military service members, helping translate scientific discovery into meaningful real world clinical impact.

Strategic Leadership and Vision
In his current executive role, Dr. Yen provides strategic oversight for multiple burn and reconstructive centers, guiding development, sustainability, and operational resilience. His passion for system level improvement continues to drive innovation in access, quality, and long term viability of burn care programs nationwide.

Committed to shaping the future of healthcare, Dr. Yen actively mentors and educates emerging clinicians, emphasizing patient centered care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and value based delivery models.
