Dane Doornbos, DMSc, PA-C, holds a Doctor of Medical Science (2023) from the University of Lynchburg and is the current Chief Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of Urology for the Geisinger Health System. A recognized leader in clinical operations and surgical subspecialties, Dr. Doornbos oversees APP integration and excellence within the urology department, leveraging nearly two decades of high-level medical experience.

His career began with a surgical residency for physician assistants at Spectrum Health (now Corewell Health) in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the clinical campus for Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. His clinical career has spanned across subspecialties of neurosurgery, critical care medicine, orthopedics, and urology. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Doornbos has a deep academic background, having served as an instructor of Gross Anatomy with cadaveric dissection at his alma mater, Marywood University.

Lastly, Dr. Doornbos has been interested in policy and state practice laws. He serves as the current chair of the Government Affairs Committee of the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Associates, where he works closely with statewide leaders and legislators to improve access to quality healthcare for all Pennsylvanians and to modernize PA practice law.
