Hello There

Wesley Patterson is a genetics PA at the Greenwood Genetic Center in Greenwood, South Carolina and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine–Columbia. He is passionate about the medical genetics field. He is involved in the evaluation and treatment of genetic disorders in individuals of all ages, with a special interest in seeing patients with developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and connective tissue disorders.
Wesley is a 2014 graduate of the Radford University (formerly Jefferson College of Health Sciences) PA Program. He holds a PhD in Healthcare Genetics from Clemson University and a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Pediatrics. Bridging from his dissertation work, he also has a special research interest in genetics and genomics education for healthcare providers as well as clinic workflows.
He serves as the President and Conference Committee Chair of ADPA. Wesley is a founding member of the Clinical Genetics Advanced Practice Providers for which he serves as Chief Medical Officer and a founding member of the Society of PAs in Genetics and Genomics for which he serves as treasurer and webmaster. He serves as the American Academy of PAs External Representative in Genetics and Genomics and the webmaster for the South Carolina Academy of PAs. He also holds memberships in the American Academy of PAs, PA Education Association, Society for PAs in Pediatrics, American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, and Inter-Society Coordinating Committee for Practitioner Education in Genomics.
