Erin Chalmers, DMSc, MSPAS, PA-C
2023-2026

Erin E. Chalmers, DMSc, MSPAS, PA-C, DFAAPA is a nationally recognized PA educator, clinician, and professional leader with over a decade of experience in physician assistant education and clinical practice.

She serves as a Professor and Associate Program Director in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Sullivan University. Over her tenure, she has held multiple leadership roles, including Director of Didactic Education, Interim Program Director, and Fellowship Coordinator for a postgraduate Advanced Practice Provider fellowship.

Dr. Chalmers is deeply engaged in PA education and professional advocacy at the national level through her work with PAEA, AAPA, and ADPA. She currently serves as President of the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants and as a Director-at-Large for the Academy of Doctoral Physician Associates, with a strong focus on mentorship, workforce development, and advancing doctoral-trained PAs into leadership roles.

Her scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications, national and international presentations, and extensive authorship of clinical education textbook chapters. Clinically, she continues to practice in pediatrics, with interests in diabetes, metabolic disease, and pediatric health.

Dr. Chalmers is known for her commitment to curriculum innovation, student remediation and success, and building supportive systems that help both learners and faculty thrive.

Outside of medicine, Erin enjoys spending time with her two children, exploring creative writing and curriculum design, and finding restoration in music, nature, and travel. She values mentorship, lifelong learning, and building meaningful connections, and is especially passionate about work that bridges leadership, education, and service.
