I am James “Jay” C. Somers, DHSc, PA-C, DFAAPA, a Physician Associate with more than 25 years of clinical experience in psychiatry and behavioral medicine. I practice outpatient psychiatry in Las Vegas, Nevada, and serve as an associate professor at the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education (ACHE) Doctor of Medical Science program, where I teach adult psychiatric medicine and mental health. My scholarly interests focus on lifestyle psychiatry, psychoneuroendocrinology, and the integration of nutrition, sleep, and behavior into mental health care. I have held national leadership roles in PA psychiatry education and professional advocacy, with a strong emphasis on curriculum development and conference planning. My current work increasingly examines the ethical and practical applications of artificial intelligence in psychiatric practice and Lifestyle Psychiatry.
